Dog owners encouraged to be responsible

Nezperce City Hall and Council encourages all dog owners to be responsible for their pets.
City Hall has been fielding numerous call about dogs disturbing neighborhoods, creating a nuisance, acting aggressively and roaming onto other people’s property.
Dogs kept within the City of Nezperce are required to be properly licensed, unless an applicable exception applies. License fees - good for one calendar year - are $5 for the first dog, $15 for the second dog and $20 for a third dog. Additional fees apply to unneutered dogs.
According to City Code 90.25, dogs are not allowed to run at large within city limits.
Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs and not to leave waste on sidewalks, parks, streets, or other people’s property.
