Library plans Halloween party, Reading Week event

The Nezperce Community Library is encouraging participants at its Halloween party to wear costumes. The party will start at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the library, 602 Fourth Ave.

The party will include games, ooblek (it’s a mixture of cornstarch and water that somehow is both a liquid and a solid at the same time), mask making, cookies and more.

Then, starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, the library will present an Idaho Family Reading Week event.

The program includes a reading of the story of Thomas Edison’s lightbulb invention followed by a recreation. Join the fun with a Revolutionary Spuds scavenger hunt and a historic American spud contest. More details will be revealed at the event.

Families who attend the Reading Week event will receive free paperback books.

The library is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
